Gluing and Dispensing

We have extensive experience in designing and building complete gluing and dispensing systems that are applied across a wide range of industries and products. Our focus is on optimizing the entire production process for greater efficiency. The result? Faster and higher production output at lower costs.

Adhesive Applications

We have implemented various adhesives in automated production lines and have experience with both single- and two-component adhesives, hot melts, and silicone filling materials. For this, we collaborate with well-known and reputable suppliers who can provide the best product for the project. We work with suppliers such as Rampf, AtlasCopco, Lutzke, Dopag, Nordson, Scheugenpflug, and Viscotec.

With our solutions, we offer the ability to create strong bonds as long as all specific process requirements are met. Therefore, our adhesive applications adhere to crucial conditions such as surface preparation, component positioning, and the application of an effective curing process.

1. Material Pre-Treatment

Pre-treatment is an additional process that is often required for a strong adhesive bond. Therefore, we design solutions with special pre-treatment stations, potentially with process control and fume extraction, for integrated in-line pre-treatment with cleaning systems or plasma treatment.

2. Curing on Demand (COD)

Usually, a substantal curing time is needed before an assembled part can be handled. During this curing tme, the part should be placed in a fxed positon, which increases both the size of your gluing applicaton and the cycle tme of the machine. To avoid this problem, Vulkan AG and TIC developed a special process: COD – Curing on Demand. We’ve already integrated COD succesfully in a gluing applicaton for car spoilers and we’d love to apply this technique in a soluton for your products.

In the COD process, infra-red heaters that emit a short wavelenght are used. In this way, the glue absorbs all heat and your parts are not being damaged. The glue is heated quickly and the curing process accelerates. To prevent overheatng, we measure the surface temperature of your materials with various temperature sensors. When a set maximum temperature is reached, the infra-red heaters stop emitng untl the materials have cooled down sufciently. Afer approximately just 3 minutes of forced curing and cooling, the part is ready to be extracted from the fxture.

Dispensing

Our dispensing applications guarantee a very high degree of precision by using various sensors to detect even the smallest deviations. Through precise process monitoring, we maintain high process stability and thus ensure a high quality level for your product. Interested in our various dispensing techniques and solutions? FIPG (Formed in Place Gaskets)

With our dispensing technology, we create FIP gaskets as an alternative to prefabricated gaskets. This involves using a two-component system that is applied as a liquid and quickly expands into a round seal. When implementing this technique, we also build the necessary automated storage system required for the curing time of the materials.
